AFE Scholarship
The Advocates For Education of Whitefish Bay (AFE) Scholarship was established in the Fall of 2010 to honor Meredith Scrivner, one of its founders. AFE was formed in 1995 to promote the middle school referendum and has continued to be a voice in public education, advocating for policies that promote high quality public education in Whitefish Bay. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize a student who, like Meredie, has demonstrated a record of advocating for a cause that has benefited his or her community. The student will have a problem solving attitude---a person who looks to find solutions. The student will display leadership qualities, have a history of community service and will be someone who has made a tangible difference in his or her community. No minimum grade point average is required. All high school seniors are eligible to apply. The scholarship will be a one time award of $500 and will be paid directly to the student.
Selection criteria:
- Student must be a graduating Senior from Whitefish Bay High School.
- Student must have shown initiative in advocating for a specific cause.
- Student must have a history of community service.
- Student must have leadership qualities.
- Student must display a “problem solving attitude.”
Please apply using the standard Whitefish Bay Scholarship application form as well as the separate Advocates For Education of Whitefish Bay application form.
